this weekend i am in new jersey/new york.
yesterday i went into the city for an open house and conference with the academy of art university at the marriott marquis. my portfolio review went especially well, much better than i had expected. my reviewer was very impressed with my work and with my experience, and she placed me in her top 3 favorites for the year. she reviews around 2,000 portfolios every year.
afterwards, my papa and i got bento boxes, then bopped around town. i got fabrics for my coat in mood: a gorgeous wool/cashmere blend for only $25, and an amazing silk print for the lining that was only $14. then we went to mood, visited the world trade center, and came to our hotel room.
today we went to bryant park and watched the academy of art university show. it was AMAZING. keep your eyes peeled for some of their designers. a lady came up to me and took my picture because she liked my bangs. the rest of the day was shopping and burger eating, and taking it easy.
last night i busted up my knee and i had to limp around all day today! it hurts so bad and i have to go to the doctor's on monday. i hope it all turns out well.
what i contemplated yesterday is how mass destruction can happen in the world and yet time carries on, people live their lives. how the american flag still flaps in the wind despite the rain, how a dedicated fashion designer will limp around the city all day because something matters more to her than a little knee pain.
funny how these things happen all at the same time?
anyway, no more philosophy. time for sleep. driving home tomorrow.

thank for the comment on my blog. that definitely isn't creepy, it's always fun to come across someone who has a few things in common. <3
